 Preliminary Turn of Units Arrangement

Before a combat beginning every player gets a special turn of units arrangement. During this turn a player sees a part of the map and only own units.
If a player is an owner of a request he/she plays a role of a defender in a combat. A player’s role defines initial arrangement of armies on the map. A defender’s army is in the upper part of the map, its color is white. An attacker’s army is in the lower part of the map and its color is red. Units are arranged on their part of the map in the same way as they were arranged during a combat preparation from right to left.
Units arrangement is made through the menu. Menu appears over an active unit. For an active unit change it is enough to choose a cell where another unit stands. Menu points can be chosen with the help of a mouse cursor and hot buttons. Menu contains the following points:
  • "Move" point allows to move a unit on any cell within a highlighted area. A highlighted area includes all free cells on a visible map taking into account the landscape. It’s because during units arrangement features of their tactics don’t matter. When the point is chosen menu disappears. A cell where a unit stands changes its look and is used to cancel the option. To move a unit a player can choose any cell within a highlighted area. A choice of any other cell is ignored. After moving a unit or canceling it menu appears over a unit.
  • "Divide Units" point allows dividing units into two equal groups. The option can’t be available if a unit in a group is alone. A highlighted area includes all free cells in a contact zone around a unit taking into account the landscape. When the point is chosen menu disappears. A cell where a unit stands changes its look and is used to cancel the option. To divide a group of units a player can choose any cell within a highlighted area. A choice of any other cell is ignored. After dividing a group of units or canceling it menu appears over a unit.
  • "Merge Units" point allows merging a group of the same type units. The number of units after merging is summed up and the other parameters become proportional. The point may not be available if there is no other group of the same type units in a contact field. A highlighted area includes all free cells in a contact zone around a unit taking into account the landscape. When the point is chosen menu disappears. A cell where a unit stands changes its look and is used to cancel the option. For merging units a player chooses a cell within a highlighted area where a unit of the same type stands. A choice of any other cell is ignored. After making an operation of merging units or canceling it menu appears over a unit.
  • "Information" point allows looking through detailed information about a unit. When the option is chosen menu disappears and a window with a detailed information opens. This window content is absolutely equal to window content in a combat (see "Units Control").
After making all necessary units arrangements a player finishes this turn. After that combat turns begin.
A turn of the units arrangement has a time limit. If the time passes earlier than a player finishes arrangement a turn will be broken. As a result, a player will begin a combat with the positions that his/her units had at the moment of an arrangement turn break.
