| Units and their Combat Tactics |
| |
A unit is the main element of a combat. Each type of units has a unique set of parameters and individual tactics features
Each type of units has main parameters which are available for trainings (see section "Units Training"). Also each of them has additional parameters which are available only in a combat. Some of these parameters are general if to compare with basic and some of them are unique.
General parameters are:
- Force of attack;
- Force of a shot;
- Force of "Run & Attack";
- Defence level from a contact attack;
- Defence level from a shot.
Units of some types may not have some of these parameters. It depends on the individual features of tactics.
Unique parameters are:
- The number of units of one type in a group;
- Moral impression on all general unit’s parameters.
Other units parameters are used without changes, the same as they are during trainings. Features of units tactics are expressed in a form of different reactions on some combat events, in ability or disability of a unit to do some actions. Tactics features are also expressed in the manner of doing similar commands by different units. Units tactics can’t be changed with the help of trainings.
The main tactics features are the following:
- Move on a combat map. Except a moving distance parameter units are characterized by the type of their move. The first type is walking. A unit moves on a combat map and takes into account features of the landscape. The second type is flying. A unit moves without taking into account the landscape. Though he should stand on the last cell of the distance. It means that a flying unit can’t stay in the air till the next move.
- Contact attack is such a hit that is made from a minimal distance (from a neighboring cell). All units differ in the types of attacks that they make or disability to make some attacks.
The types of attacks are the following:
- physical attack is characterized by a general parameter "force of attack". During defense from it "defense level from a contact attack" matters;
- physical attack in a combination with an attack at a unit’s moral is characterized by a general parameter "force of attack" and a basic parameter "force of a moral decrease". During defense a general parameter "defense level from a contact attack" matter. There is no defense from a moral decrease;
- physical attack in a combination with freezing doesn’t differ from an ordinary physical attack. In addition, a unit will be frozen for some moves;
- healing/poisoning in a combination with a moral change is characterized by a general parameter "force of attack" and basic parameters "force of a moral decrease/increase". There is no defense from such an attack. Healing is applied to a player’s units and poisoning – to an enemy-player’s units.
Every unit can make only one type of attacks. One of the additional features of making attack is the number of attacked units. It can be attacks at one unit or at all the units around.
- "Run & Attack" is a quick move at a longer distance than while walking. During this type of move the landscape should be taken into account. "Run & Attack" is combined with an obligatory contact attack at the end of the distance. Except basic parameters "running distance" and "force of Run & Attack" units are characterized by having or not having a skill to make "Run & Attack". An obligatory condition of making this attack is more than one cell distance to a unit. This distance is given to every unit once in 3 moves. Flying units can’t make this attack as well as some walking units.
- Back attack is a skill to make a contact back attack. A unit may have this skill or not. Back attack can be made in a contact attack or after "Run & Attack".
- A possibility to heal and freeze is a unit’s tactics feature in a combat. Healing and freezing is a complex feature of tactics, units can’t have a part of this complex feature. If a unit can be healed/poisoned then he could be also frozen. Some units don’t have this skill. In this case a unit can’t heal/poison and a freezing attack will be made as a standard physical attack, freezing is ignored.
- Distance attack (shot) is such a hit that is made from not less than one cell distance. Every unit is characterized by having or not having a skill to make this attack. A shot is characterized by a general parameter "force of attack" and a basic parameter "number of shots". And a defense from it is featured by a general parameter "defense level from a shot". Shots can be additionally characterized by a combination with a moral attack or with freezing. Besides, shots differ in the range of attack. Attack can be spread on one cell, square field (2x2 or 3x3 cells) and rectangular field (width – 1 cell, length – a shooting distance. Shooting at a cell defeats all the units in this cell. "Personal" shot can be made only at an enemy-unit. And a shot at the field can be made without aiming. A shooting may depend on the map landscape (shooting within a field of view). It may also not depend (ballistic shooting). Besides, there is a positional restriction on shooting. It means that an enemy-unit around you always blocks up a part of a shooting field.
Some features of tactics can be characterized as specializations:
- Fly is a type of move without taking into account the landscape.
- Invisibility is a unit’s skill to stay invisible for an enemy-player. This skill is available till a sensor-unit reveals an enemy-player.
- Sensor is a unit’s skill to detect invisible enemy-players.
- Freezing is an additional feature of some types of units attack. As a result of freezing an enemy-unit looses ability to move for 3 turns. However, it is possible to cut off freezing and to heal this unit.
- Attack at a territory means that a unit makes an attack at all the territory around him.
- A shot at a territory attacks with an equal force a territory and everything within its measures.

Specializations can’t be trained. Except specializations units of the same type can join and divide on a combat field. Units are divided into two equal groups. This division happens during one move. If a unit remains alone division becomes impossible. Joining is possible only for the units of the same type. When they join their number sums up, other parameters become proportional and specialization takes one move.
During a combat three units parameters change: the number of units in a group, their standard of living and moral level. If the number of units in a group or their standard of living become equal to zero this group is counted as killed and is removed from a combat map. If a moral level goes below 50% units run away from a combat field and are removed from a combat map. |
